Startup trends around the world are growing heavily, especially in the technology industry. One such example of a cybersecurity company that recently secured a whopping $15 million in their Series A funding is Panther Labs.

Panther Labs is a company founded by Ex-Airbnb and Amazon Web Services employees and recently secured funding to speed up the development of their open-source security platform design.

The funding round was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners followed by participation by S28 Capital, Fathom Capital and Innovation Endeavours. The company’s total investment after Series A is $20.5 Million and Lightspeed investor partner Gaurav Gupta takes a board seat.

Ever since the rise in the cloud based platforms and web services, security departments have been on edge when it comes to monitoring activity. Panther Labs fills this gap by providing developer-friendly solutions for security engineers at organizations like GitLab and similar.

Panther has the capabilities of collecting terabytes of security logs from various sources like AWS, Gsuite, OKTA etc.

During the processing of the data, detections are performed and virtual destinations like Slack and PagerDuty are alerted in real-time.

Launched in 2018, Panther Labs was a project of Jack Naglieri. Jack contributed to the development of StreamAlert, a widely-used open source security platform used by Netflix, Coinbase and more.

Panther Labs’ targeted investment areas include sales and marketing, security and engineering along with additional key features for added convenience.
