According to a statement, Google announced that it’s creating a new Google Cybersecurity Action Team (GCAT) with a vision to create a roadmap that will guide customers through the cycle of security transformation.
Alongside the primary mission of supporting the security transformation of government and private sector enterprises, GCAT will provide services in four key segments:
- Strategic Advisory Services
- Trust and compliance services
- Security customer and solutions engineering
- Threat intelligence and incident response services
Google, through it’s new $5 billion commitment of Cybersecurity Action Team, has pledged to help protect organizations against adverse cyber events with capabilities that address industry frameworks and standards.
“Customers need a consistent approach to preparing for and defending against cybersecurity threats,” said Phil Venables, vice president and CISO at Google Cloud and founder of the Google Cybersecurity Action Team.
Phil Venables further added, “Our comprehensive suite of security solutions delivered through our platform and amplified by the Google Cybersecurity Action Team will help protect organizations against adverse cyber events with capabilities that address industry frameworks and standards.”
GCAT will also deliver threat briefings, preparedness drills, incident support, and rapid response engagements along with other resources such as Software Supply Chain and Zero Trust resources.
