Ever wondered how secure your wireless carrier is ? Considering the amount of information we disclose on a daily basis, wireless carriers top the list of companies after banks and other institutions that hold our personal information.
When you think about it, there’s a lot that we as customers risk to obtain wireless carrier services.
According to a NOTICE OF BREACH on its website, T-mobile, one of the top wireless providers in the United States, became a victim of a cyber attack compromising the personal information of its customers and employees.
T-mobile’s Response to the Incident:
In collaboration with the Federal law Enforcement, T-mobile is proactively investigating the case alongside forensic experts. The reports so far claim that the information compromised included:
- Victim’s names.
- Phone numbers.
- Addresses.
- Bill details like phone plans, phone numbers and billing information.
So far, any financial information and social security numbers have not been listed as information compromised.
T-mobile confirmed that any specific utilization of the information compromised has not been discovered yet. Further investigation is in process.
